Sporting success
Trinity has a strong sporting tradition with Welsh rugby legend Barry John (Wales and British Lions outside half) being an ex-student and Carwyn James (the British Lions coach during the 1970s) having been a lecturer. Our sporting success includes the First Rugby Team winning the British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) Halifax Shield and The Welsh Cup. Many students at Trinity represent the Welsh University teams by competing in the British University Games (BUGS).
In addition the University works in partnership with the Llanelli Scarlets’ Rugby Academy to enable players to combine rugby with their academic studies. The Sports Centre and Health Suite provide an ideal opportunity for students to take part in team sports and to use the gym to keep fit.
