Dr Nichola Welton lectures on a range of areas within BA Youth and Community Work and BA Education Studies and Social Inclusion. She lectures specifically in relation to informal and experiential education, research methods, anti-oppressive practice, and multicultural education.
She also contributes to the MA Education and Society and MA Outdoor Education degree programmes and co-edits the academic journal - “Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning”

Dr. Nichola Welton has worked in a number of youth work and outdoor learning contexts while working for a charity, a Local Education Authority run centre, and the Statutory Youth Service.
Academic Interests
Her research interests include outdoor learning / experiential education methods and philosophy in relation to young people's personal/social development and environmental education; as well as developing participatory research and evaluation methods with young people and communities.Publications
